With attention spans being so short these days, stylish staging is critical for getting top dollar for your home. Tip One: Great Lighting is Everything – Great lighting can mean the difference between your home feeling like a warm and cozy retreat or a cold and musty warehouse. Use light temperatures to match the decor and ambience of your home, making sure they are the same color (warm whites or cool whites), but also the same voltage levels. It’s important that all lamps are operating so that buyers can get an idea of how each room looks with both natural sunlight and artificial light sources. 

 

Tip Two: Accessorize – Accessories can add life and personality to any room in your house without costing too much money or effort. Consider bringing in colorful accent pillows, throw blankets, rugs, plants, wall art, etc., that will make each space feel more inviting and homey. Choose items that fit with the overall theme of each room but don’t go overboard; you want buyers to focus on the potential of each area rather than be overwhelmed by excess decoration. 

 

Tip Three: Declutter – Clutter isn't only unsightly; it can also give off an energy of disorganization that could turn away potential buyers who might not even realize why they're feeling uneasy about a certain space in your house. Go through each room in your house and remove any unnecessary items such as knick-knacks or collections that may not appeal to everyone's taste. Make sure closets aren't jam-packed; instead leave some extra space so buyers can imagine themselves filling up their own closets with their belongings once they move into the new place! 

 

Tip Four: Cleanliness is Key – A clean house goes without saying if you want potential buyers to stay around for more than eight seconds! This goes beyond tidying up; focus on details such as wiping down countertops, cleaning windows, dusting surfaces and furniture, scrubbing floors/carpets/tile grout, washing curtains/bedding/cushions - whatever needs doing! Buyers should walk into a space feeling refreshed by its cleanliness rather than overwhelmed from dirtiness or pet odors (or worse).
