Experience Delicious Vegan Food At Vined In Charleston

Did you know that pea protein tastes just as good as shrimp? In this episode of the North Chuck Hookup, I’m going to hook you up with healthy, delicious vegan food from Vined. We’ll sample some of their dishes and learn about their ingredients to give you an idea of everything this amazing place has to offer. Welcome To Vined Vined is located at 5117 Dorchester Road, Unit G, in North Charleston, South Carolina. We got a chance to talk with Vined owner Chef Christian to learn about her eatery and what they have to offer. Vined is an all-vegan establishment, and people love eating there because of the atmosphere. While the menu brings people in, Chef Christian assures us that you don't have to be vegan to enjoy the food. They even have several people who are carnivores that come to the restaurant daily, just to try different things that are offered. Healthy Substitutions Even if a person isn’t vegan, everything on the menu has received positive responses from the average eater. In addition to offering obvious non-meat options, Vined’s dishes include healthy substitutions. For example, a portabello mushroom is cooked as a “steak,” paired with mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side. Another popular dish is “shrimp” and grits, a true Charleston favorite. The shrimp substitute used is made out of pea protein, which is both healthy and delicious. Many people are surprised at how well it works in the dish. Additionally, you can try Vined’s version of traditional chicken and waffles—made with “vings”, a cauliflower chicken alternative. Having Fun At Chuck Town Axe Throwing

Did you know Charleston is home to a bar where you can throw some axes? In this episode of North Chuck Hookup, I’m going to take you to Chuck Town Axe Throwing right here in North Charleston. We’ll learn about everything from technique to throwing tips so you can make the most out of your experience. All About Chuck Town Axe Throwing Chuck Town Axe Throwing is Charleston’s premier axe throwing location. We had a chance to talk with Derek, a part of the management at Chuck Town. He gave us an inside look at the venue before the crowds arrive. Whether you’re attending a bachelor or bachelorette party, going on a date, or meeting up with friends and family, Chuck Town is a great way to have fun. When you arrive, staff will explain the instructions, techniques, and how to score the game. The venue is also attached to a brewery, so food and drinks are just a step away. Chuck Town recommends axe throwing for ages 12 and older, with kids required to be under parental supervision. Kids younger can come to hang out, as it’s a very friendly family environment. You’ll also need to wear close-toed shoes, as you don’t want to drop an axe on bare feet. Getting Into The Swing Of Things As Derek tells us, there are a few different steps to kind swinging the axe and making sure it’s a good throw. Some people are nervous and afraid to commit when they throw their first axe, but being successful requires putting power behind the motion. The more throws you make, the more comfortable you’ll become. You can then take that power and channel it into the board, getting your frustrations out.   The first step is to have your feet planted but slightly offset. You can start with your feet together and step into it, as long as you make your way up to the axe throwing line. Bringing the axe straight over the top of the head until it’s resting right between the shoulder blades allows time for the axe to make a full revolution once you throw. When axe throwing, you also want to use your body. This will generate the energy needed for the axe to stick into the board. To accomplish this, lean back as you're getting ready to throw. Once you step into the throw, follow through as you would in a golf swing while letting go of the axe in the middle of the arc. Come Join The Game I hope this gave you a good idea of all the fun you can have throwing axes at Chuck Town. To book a reservation, you can call at 843-607-0420 or visit their website. It’s a great way to get together with friends and family to test your skills. We LOVE This Creamy in North Charleston!

Can you taste the difference between processed ice cream and homemade ice cream? In this episode of The North Chuck Hookup, I’m going to introduce you to Park Circle Creamery’s homemade ice cream right here in North Charleston. We’ll discover everything from fresh waffle cones to vegan options to give you an idea of everything this ice cream shop has to offer. Handmade Scoops And Cones Here at the Chatman Group, we love to support our local small businesses—and Maurice’s shop is no exception. Our client appreciation events are held here at Park Circle Creamery because we just love their ice cream. If you’re looking for a homemade scoop, this is the place you’ve got to check out. As owner Maurice tells us, what separates Park Circle Creamery from everyone else’s ice cream is that they make all of their flavors in-house—along with freshly baked waffle cones. They take a lot of pride in their product, and a lot of love goes into every batch. That love includes time, energy, care, and passion to study each ingredient and the impact it will have on each product they make.  Fresh Flavors And Vegan Options The energy and love given starts at 4:00 in the morning, when batches of ice cream are whipped up to ensure fresh scoops for all the day’s customers. Most ice cream, in general, contains a lot of stabilizers, additives, and ingredients to preserve the ice cream. This, however, can affect the flavor.  Park Circle Creamer strives to use the least amount of ingredients possible that could impact both flavor taste as well as product display. They also offer a few vegan options for those with dairy allergies or who simply want to eat a plant-based diet, including a vegan Oreo Cookie ice cream and their new creation, Vegan Coconut Oreo.  Additional favorites at Park Circle Creamery include Chocolate Velvet and German Chocolate—both of which are absolutely delicious. And because we’re in the South, Charleston’s Best Butter Pecan is a must-try for a downhome treat you won’t forget. Enjoy A Treat In Charleston You can’t come to Parks without tasting the best ice cream in Charleston. To get a scoop at Park Circle Creamery, find them at 1069 E Montague Ave in North Charleston. It’s the perfect treat for a hot summer day!
